Random Youth Club Frolicking

As many of you know, I have been doing work at the Youth Club lately, mostly teaching dance and performance to my terrifying minions.

Here are some photos documenting just some of my adventures!

Alive Again!

Laura is alive, and has remembered her blog!

To celebrate this momentous occassion, she will do something she has never done before ... post pictures of someone other than herself. These are of some girl called Daniela who used to live in my house and occassionally steal my stuff.

Blog my Dog!

Hi, my name is Biggles. I've just moved into this new pad. It's a pretty sweet place, except there are these two silly humans who think they live here. Not sure how long they'll be staying.

Yesterday I came across some ham just sitting around on the table, and I helped myself to it because that's how I roll. You dig? Peace out.

Biggles.

Nothing to 'Hide'

So, apparently the term "a good hiding" in my previous post may have given the wrong impression. Just to clarify, I did not literally have the hide taken off my bottom. What I got was a good spanking, like always. A bit firmer than I am used to, but nothing too severe.

I hope that clears that up.

Laura of Nottingham

Twang! So I guess this is becoming almost like a monthly blog. Never mind. I'll just bring you up to speed on what I've been doing lately.

This past weekend Patrick and I have been down in Nottingham visiting his family, which was kind of interesting. It's a bit weird for me, given my relatively unstrict upbringing, to be visiting a family where domestic discipline is so common and ordinary. We're talking about a home where furniture has been specifically arranged to allow for efficient punishment (i.e. plenty of empty corners, chairs available etc.)

So that was an experience. Even I didn't manage to escape the weekend without getting myself in trouble for my evil, evil ways. Let's just say I was a bit of a bad influence on one occasion, and that was enough to earn my bottom a good hiding.

Oh yeah, the above picture is from archery at the Youth Club where I have been doing some volunteer work for the past few weeks. Fits in quite nicely with the Nottingham theme, don't you think? But the real question is, who was silly enough to give me a bow and arrow? :P

Last Day!!!

For those of who don't already know, I've decided to leave my job and today is my last day. I guess I enjoy marital bliss so much that I want to devote more time to it! There are a few things out there that I'd like to get more involved in (further details to follow), and even better now that I have more free time I may actually update this blog once in a while. :P

As a send-off, have some pictures of me with my wonderful work colleagues. Don't be strangers! Mwah!

Hold Me Closer, Tiny Hostess

Had a dream last night that I was really tiny. Surprisingly, it was actually quite fun except that I was too small to pour myself a glass of milk. The fact that the glass was also too big for me didn't seem to have occured to me at all. Thankfully, everyone else was still normal-sized, so help was there if I needed it I suppose.

I don't normally remember my dreams, but it's kind of fun when I do. Maybe I should start keeping a dream journal. Think I annoyed Patrick a bit, though.

"Would you still love me if I was really tiny?"
"Yes, dear. Go back to sleep."

I've been playing hostess a bit recently as Patrick's two lovely sisters came to stay for a while. Turns out playing hostess isn't actually that hard, though, when the guests are quite happy to help out with the housework and cooking. They should come and stay more often!

Their upbringing has been pretty strict, so I guess we have that in common. My upbringing wasn't strict, but being with Patrick has given me a good deal of insight I think. I'm not sure if they'll both look for husbands who will be similarly strict with them, though. Can you have too much of a good thing?

A Farewell to Booze

Patrick announced a few weeks ago that he thought we should both stay sober from now on. I thought it was just a crazy idea brought on by too much Xboxing but I found out how serious he was earlier this week when I came home a little tipsy and ended up getting myself punished for it. I'm also grounded, so if you're wondering why you haven't seen me 'out on the town' lately, then that's why!

I guess I can kind of understand it. Patrick explained why sobriety is a Very Good Thing, if not for medical or other reasons, then simply for spiritual ones. I tried pointing out this passage in the Bible to him:

"Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts."

His reponse was, "It's says 'him'. That means I could drink if I wanted to, but you still can't."

Darn it.

So anyway, I'd like to take this opportunity to say a fond farewell to booze ... we've had some good times!

Still Alive!

Yes, I haven't forgotten about this place! I know I've been absent for (erm) three months now, but I've been meaning to update and just haven't got round to it. Hmm. Let's cast our minds back and see what I wrote in my first very post on this blog:

"I've been meaning my whole life to start keeping some kind of diary, but I've never quite had the follow-through. This is probably the closest I'll get, and hopefully I won't abandon it after a few weeks like every diary I've ever owned ..."

At least it lasted more than a few weeks! Anyway, yes I'm still alive. Further news to follow!

Twinkly-Toes!

For tonights entertainment I dug up some old studio pics of me in my ballet get-up. Try not to laugh too hard.

Oops!

Turns out I wasn't able to escape another week without getting in trouble with Patrick. (I thought I was doing pretty well!). For the second time in the last few months I managed to scratch the car, this time while backing out of the drive. A drive is a stupid place to put a car if you ask me ...

If you were wondering, this is exactly the kind of thing that gets me put across Patrick's knee. I got away with it the first time on the grounds that it may have been a one-off accident, but the same thing happening twice is apparently a "pattern of negligence". First I was slippered on my bare bottom, and then I got a few with the belt, which is reserved only for what Patrick considers to be serious infractions and this was only my third time getting it.

Afterwards I got corner time as usual, and I'm also banned from driving for a while. I hate taking the bus.

I am a silly monkey, aren't I?

Happy New Year!

Maybe my new years resolution should be to update this blog more often. I promise that I haven't forgotten about this place, it's just all been a bit hectic lately.

I've had quite a mixture of responses to the post I made just before christmas, so I suppose I should try and clarify a few things. Here goes; (1) It's not spousal abuse, (2) I'm not a masochist, and (3) Yes, it really does hurt. I've also been surprised to discover that it's a lot more common than I thought it was, and there's actually quite a community going online for like-minded people.

It's been a bit weird having people know about it, but I guess it was good to get it out there for discussion. There haven't been many negative responses so far, most people just think it's a bit crazy. But hey, I've always been that way!
